About TOK – In brief
The TOK (Theory of Knowledge) course you are taking is a required class for a student in the full IB Diploma Program. TOK is a course centered on critical thinking and discovering the process of knowing, rather than a course focused on one specific region of knowledge. The course will allow students to expand their minds, while they engage in interesting activities, research, and projects. Essentially, Theory of Knowledge allows one to “know about knowing.” IB Full Diploma students are required to have at least 100 hours of TOK course time by the end of their senior year. 100 hours seems like a lot, but with appropriate scheduling, the workload will be spaced out over an extended period of time.
